  • On commissioning Russia’s most powerful combined cycle gas turbine unit at the Kirishi SDPS

“Gazprom is the leader of the Russian energy market and the largest investor in the sector. Our task is to significantly increase the efficiency of power generation as well as existing facilities to the level shown by the biggest global energy companies. The most powerful drivers here are such projects as the combined cycle gas turbine unit CCGT-800 at the Kirishi SDPS.”

Cooperation with DONG Energy is very promising

“Power generation is one of our core businesses in Europe. Gazprom shows a particular interest in partnering with European energy majors on the existing power generation projects and in constructing new gas-fired power plants as well. Cooperation with DONG Energy is very promising.”

On Gazprom’s capability to supply gas to the Asian markets due to the South Stream implementation with the maximum throughput of 63 billion cubic meters

“We possess uniquely large gas reserves located in the East of Russia and we are ready to supply absolutely every need of the Asian markets; we don't hesitate over the rapidly growing gas demand as exemplified by Japan where in 2012 it is estimated to go up to 100 million tons of LNG which is almost 30 per cent more than a year ago.”

Since the beginning of the year Gazprom’s capitalization has increased by almost 24 per cent

“In 2012 the Gazprom shares continue steadily growing and remain in high demand on the stock market owing largely to the Company's current affairs. Thus, since the beginning of the year Gazprom's capitalization has increased by almost 24 per cent and stands at some USD 158 billion placing the Company in the 7th position among the global energy companies. This confirms our predictions that during at least the first six months investors will keep staking on Gazprom.”
