Gazprom’s outstanding competitive advantage is the strong corporate spirit of a leading company
“The year of 2011 finished for the Company with the record breaking financial and operational results. This was made possible thanks to Gazprom's outstanding competitive advantage – strong corporate spirit, the spirit of a leading company which sets ambitious goals. It was formed on the grounds rich in work traditions of many generations of gas industry workers. Our task is to preserve these traditions, foster them and provide for their continuity. And to do so we need to have an optimal balance at all times between youth and energy on one side and experience and high skills on the other.
The Company's human resources policy determines the level of operational excellence, quality and promptness of decisions, and, most importantly, the quality of managerial objectives setting. And, as is well known, a well formulated objective makes half of success.”
Joint projects will contribute significantly to promoting the Russian-Japanese dialogue
“Over the last 12 months the demand for LNG in Japan has grown 18 per cent and shows an upward trend similarly to the share of gas in the Japanese energy balance in general. Our joint efforts seek to ensure stability and predictability of natural gas supplies to the Japanese market”.
The first quarter results allow carrying out everything we have scheduled for this year
“In the first quarter of 2012 Gazprom has beaten its targets for gas production and supplies to the domestic market. Production volumes exceeded the prime target by 1.7 billion cubic meters and made up 141.8 billion cubic meters; gas supplies increased by 3.5 billion cubic meters and stood at 104.6 billion cubic meters. This is a very good result enabling us to carry out every project we have scheduled for this year.
We are also happy with the European export figures shown this April – we are keeping ahead of schedule by 6 per cent”.
NGV segment expansion will create a new large-scale sales market for Gazprom’s natural gas
“The time has come for a breakthrough in the Russian natural gas vehicle (NGV) market and Gazprom is the only domestic company that can do it. Our main goal is to expand the sales market of this type of fuel to the extent possible to serve the public interests. Gas is the most eco-friendly fuel. It is also the cheapest fuel. Gazprom is capable of strongly expanding the existing infrastructure, making it more attractive for car drivers, supplying as much gas as possible and actually creating a new great sales market for the Company's natural gas. This is a profitable core business for us.”
Nord Stream’s second string laying completed ahead of schedule
“The Nord Stream's second string project is being implemented ahead of schedule. The pipe laying has been completed almost two weeks in advance – therefore, commercial gas supplies will also be launched before the preset deadlines.”
On Gazprom involvement in the licensed blocks development project offshore Vietnam
“I would like to express my gratitude towards the Vietnamese senior officials for supporting the Russian-Vietnamese joint initiatives. For many years Gazprom has been successfully implementing the large-scale projects offshore Vietnam. The Agreement signed today shows that Russia and Vietnam have a mutual interest to deepen the multifaceted partnership that engages hydrocarbon development in Vietnam, Russia and third countries, as well as cooperation under our Eastern Gas Program, staff training and personnel career development, and prospects for cooperation in the energy sector.”
