Football for Friendship – new social project of Gazprom
“Promoting children's sports is a priority of Gazprom's social policy Giving younger generations the opportunity to unlock their talents and instilling the love of a healthy lifestyle in them means laying a solid foundation for harmonious development.
Football is popular all over the world. Its language is understood by people of different nationalities and religions, with different principles and characters. That's why within our project teenagers will learn to cooperate and respect each other by playing football. It will help them both in studies and in future careers, while regular exercises will give them strength for future victories”.
On third and fourth strings of Nord Stream
“Within the next six months Gazprom does not plan to sign any binding documents regarding the third and the fourth strings of Nord Stream. Until October a feasibility study for Yamal – Europe 2 is expected to be completed and it will clarify whether the project is economically and technically feasible”.
In memory of Viktor Chernomyrdin’s 75th anniversary
“Viktor Chernomyrdin was one of the originators of Gazprom. In the early 1990s the creation of Gazprom was a kind of the Russian gas industry rescue plan. It was the plan by Chernomyrdin.
Maybe, it was the plan to rescue the entire Russia, as during those difficult years Gazprom was actually paying wages, pensions, social allowances. Thanks to Gazprom, thanks to Viktor Chernomyrdin both the industry and the country stayed afloat.
Today, 20 years later, Gazprom is the major Russian gas and energy Company. It was Viktor Chernomyrdin who created the backbone of Gazprom’s current achievements. He was a remarkable politician, a public figure, an outstanding person”.

Gazprom and Gasunie go into Nord Stream expansion project
“We see the potential of Nord Stream expansion. The new string can be oriented to the new markets and will for the first time connect Russia and the UK. We see a keen interest of the British partners to the project. The construction of the fourth string should be based on a long-term contract for gas supply to the UK”.

Gazprom and EuRoPol GAZ to cooperate under Yamal – Europe 2 gas pipeline project
“The Yamal – Europe 2 project implies that some additional gas transmission capacities should be built to secure uninterrupted and reliable Russian gas supplies to European consumers.
The gas pipeline route will run through Poland and our Polish partners will take an active part in engineering and construction works”.
Gazprom opens Russia and Europe’s largest Table Tennis Center in Orenburg
“Today is a special day for table tennis in Russia. The Russian Table Tennis Center – the largest one in Europe and in our country – has been opened in Orenburg.
It is no coincidence that it was built here, in Orenburg. Thousands of children go in for table tennis in the Orenburg Region. And one of Europe's strongest tennis clubs – Fakel Gazproma – is based in Orenburg.
In 2007 when I met with the Fakel Gazproma club players and management it was resolved that a Table Tennis Center in Orenburg should come into being! I am glad that we could fulfill everything we planned. There is a spacious building with the best equipment installed. Children and adults, amateurs and professionals will have an opportunity to exercise in it – almost a thousand people every day. It is of great importance that its doors are open for disabled people as well. Moreover, the Center is an excellent ground for competitions of the highest level.
The Table Tennis Center was built as part of the Gazprom for Children program. I am sure that future Olympic and Paralympic champions will be raised within these walls. New names will appear here and we will be proud of them. The new Center will help fulfill the task of national importance – to foster the aspiration of the youth to sports and healthy lifestyle”.
“We defined the Orenburg Region as the basic region to start our NGV fuel program in Russia. It was included in the list of ten regions where we will carry out large-scale activities on NGV fuel. We actually can start in the middle of this year”.
