Speech by Alexey Miller at conference call on occasion of New Year’s Eve
On behalf of the Management Committee and on my own behalf, let me wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
2016 was a successful year for Gazprom in spite of the challenging macroeconomic environment. We achieved every single business target we had set. In many ways, it was a year of record highs. But those are not just records for the sake of records. Those figures definitively show that we improved the reliability, sustainability and safety of gas supplies to consumers in Russia and beyond.
Gazprom and Russian pipe producers to adopt formula pricing for pipe fittings
“Mutually beneficial cooperation between Gazprom and domestic pipe producers is consistently expanding. Looking back at 2016, we are happy to report that the share of Russian pipes in the Company’s procurements has reached the highest possible level: 100 per cent. Congratulations!”
Gazprom expanding cooperation with Japanese partners
“Gazprom continues to successfully cooperate with companies from the Asia-Pacific region, the world’s fastest-growing gas market. As usual, Japanese companies are our main partners in the LNG sector. The documents signed today give a much broader dimension to our joint efforts on LNG and create ample opportunities for collaboration in other areas of the gas industry.”
Gazprom and OMV sign binding Basic Agreement on asset swap
“The Basic Agreement specifies the share that Gazprom will receive in the asset of OMV as part of the asset swap; it also contains some other commercial terms and is legally binding. In essence, the basic parameters of this deal have been determined. We plan to agree and sign the final documents by mid-2017.”
World’s first Gas Transmission Museum opens in Moscow
“Today, we open the first Gas Transmission Museum in the world. It is a modern, well-equipped and state-of-the-art industrial museum. It presents an opportunity to explore the inception and ongoing development of our country’s unique gas transmission system. I believe that the new museum will be fascinating to many people – gas workers and veterans, industry-relevant students, schoolchildren, and everyone who is intellectually curious and interested in the past and present of our country.”
