Alexey Miller extends condolences upon tragic death of Christophe de Margerie
Alexey Miller sent a telegram of condolences on Christophe de Margerie’s tragic death to the Total Moscow office:
“On behalf of the Gazprom Management Committee and on my own behalf I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences upon your grievous loss – the life of Christophe de Margerie, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Total tragically ended.
A gifted leader, an influential politician, a man respected by everyone who knew him passed away. We deeply feel for the friends and family, for all who had the great honor to know Christophe de Margerie and work with him.

Intergovernmental Agreement for Russian gas supply to China to be ready soon
“The talks in China were held in the atmosphere of warmth, friendliness and confidence. Their results are highly important. At the meetings we outlined the new levels for interaction in the gas sector, with regard to supply volumes, long-term cooperation and new business segments.
The top priority of the current talks is the western route. The supply contract for 30 billion cubic meters of gas a year is being prepared. The Altai project is fully ready to initiate the construction. Later on, the second and third gas pipeline strings might be constructed to reach the potential output of up to 100 billion cubic meters a year.
The new areas of cooperation include joint projects in Russian and Chinese offshore oil fields, power generation projects in China as well as joint activities in third countries. Gazprom is ready to consider the possibility of pipeline gas export to China as an alternative to the Vladivostok LNG project.”

“The topic proposed by the organizers can certainly be considered overarching – the global gas industry outlooks and problems.
Speaking of the main problem of the global gas industry, it lies in the fact that at the present moment the outlooks don’t work and neither do the strategies based on these outlooks. There are certainly some undisputed facts; concerning the long-term perspective, we believe that by 2050 gas in the global energy mix – I stress it, natural gas – will account for one-third and its worldwide production will exceed seven trillion cubic meters a year. Power industry will be the number one industry consuming natural gas. This is it about the undisputed things”.

“The new convention & exhibition center has become the most advanced one in Russia; it fully complies with the requirements of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, being one of the largest in Europe. Decision taken to boost Blue Stream’s capacity to 19 billion cubic meters
