Speech by Alexey Miller at “Global Natural Gas Market Transformation: Challenges and Ways of Development” Plenary Session held as part of SPIGF 2023
“If we talk about forecasts, I will, first of all, talk about the forecasts made by our specialists, our experts and the experts of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum. Over the next 25 years, global gas demand will grow by 43 per cent. At the same time, the share of gas in the global fuel and energy mix will reach 26 per cent. And this means that it is gas that will take the largest share in the global fuel and energy mix”.
New refueling facilities for motor vehicles running on eco-friendly natural gas launched in Bashkiria and Leningrad, Novosibirsk, Omsk, and Vologda Regions
“There are in total as many as over 400 gas filling stations of Gazprom across the country now. This is a result of our systematic and consistent work. And the number of gas filling stations will grow with every passing year. This means that the Russian Federation receives additional incentives for developing its economy and preserving the favorable environment”.
Gazprom launches first natural gas liquefaction complex in Southern Federal District
“Gazprom pays great attention to the expansion of liquefied natural gas production in Russia. In 2022, our LNG plant was put into operation on the coast of the Baltic Sea. In September this year, we launched the small-scale LNG complex in the Amur Region. New LNG capacities mean flexibility of natural gas supplies, diversification of the sales markets, and a source of clean energy for transport. And we continue our work in this direction”.
Access to network gas provided to new consumers in Russian regions
“Gas infrastructure expansion means, first of all, a better quality of life for Russian citizens. Gazprom continues the active work on making the benefits of natural gas available to as many Russian residents as possible. This area of activities is one of our priorities.
All instructions issued by Russian President Vladimir Putin with regard to social gas infrastructure expansion are being strictly complied with. It is with absolute confidence that we are reaching the goal of achieving a 100 per cent technically possible gas grid development in Russia”.
