Gas cooperation with Hungary reviewed

A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Peter Szijjarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, took place today at Russian Energy Week International Forum 2022.

The issues of cooperation in the gas sector were addressed at the meeting. It was noted that Gazprom provides reliable supplies of its gas to Hungary via the TurkStream gas pipeline and the gas transmission systems of southeastern Europe.

Background

Russian Energy Week International Forum 2022 is taking place from October 12 to 14, 2022, in Moscow. The motto of this year's Forum is “Global Energy in a Multipolar World.” 

TurkStream is an export gas pipeline stretching from Russia to Turkey across the Black Sea. Its design capacity is 31.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year. TurkStream is intended for delivering gas to Turkey, as well for gas transit to southern and southeastern Europe through Turkish territory.
