Christmas and New Year greetings

“I wish the upcoming year 2015 will be a good one for Russia, for Gazprom and for all of you. I wish happiness, prosperity and health to you and your beloved ones!”

Speech by Alexey Miller about global gas industry outlooks and problems at 4th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum

“The topic proposed by the organizers can certainly be considered overarching – the global gas industry outlooks and problems.

Speaking of the main problem of the global gas industry, it lies in the fact that at the present moment the outlooks don’t work and neither do the strategies based on these outlooks. There are certainly some undisputed facts; concerning the long-term perspective, we believe that by 2050 gas in the global energy mix – I stress it, natural gas – will account for one-third and its worldwide production will exceed seven trillion cubic meters a year. Power industry will be the number one industry consuming natural gas. This is it about the undisputed things”.

Address by Gazprom Management Committee Chairman Alexey Miller at 13th International Investment Forum Sochi-2014

“This year is historically important for the national gas industry and Gazprom in particular. The 30-year contract to annually supply 38 billion cubic meters of gas to China has been signed and we have entered into the world’s potentially greatest gas market. Moreover, we have actually secured the direct interaction between the two biggest markets – Europe and Asia. Until recently, these markets interacted indirectly with each other.”

Speech by Alexey Miller at the annual General Shareholders Meeting

In 2013 we achieved excellent results. The behavior of Gazprom's main indicators demonstrates stability and reliability of the Company's business. The most important result of the year – a progress in the strategy aimed at promoting our leadership in the energy industry. We obtained a record-breaking level of gas supply to Europe. We became the leaders in developing hydrocarbon reserves of the Russian Arctic. We pioneered subsea gas production in Russia. Gazprom Group ranked first around the globe in terms of heat production. In the reporting year Gazprom took the lead among global companies by EBITDA (Earnings before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization) results.

The 2013 results brought Gazprom to the leading edge of the global energy sector. We still have a lot to do – adopt cutting-edge technologies, penetrate into new oil and gas production regions and gain access to new markets. We will keep on improving the operating and financial results, diversify our businesses, expand the range of products and develop supply opportunities to serve the interests of our shareholders.

Statement by Alexey Miller at the “Gas Motor Fuel for European Environment” Conference within the European Business Congress

“When we mention the diversification of our markets we also mean the product range diversification and we will surely enhance our activities in the NGV segment.

Despite the ambitious goals of the EU for diversifying energy sources in all the areas of consumption, the highest dependence on a single type of fossil fuel (95 per cent of the market) is still observed in the transportation sector. We consider a unified approach and adequate regulatory measures to be essential for establishing a solid foundation for the evolution of the NGV fuel market.

All in all, the vehicle manufacturing industry and the gas industry may become our natural allies to promote the use of natural gas in the transportation sector. Gazprom already closely cooperates with the key players of this industry, and these are not just Russian manufacturers, but well-known international brands as well, including Volkswagen, Mercedes, Fiat, Opel and many others.”

“What the signed contract [with China] can result in and in which way? One may suppose that entering this contract will influence European market prices. This is first. Secondly, the competition for Russian gas resources started yesterday. We have already noted that the EU lost its battle for global LNG. Another competition started yesterday – the competition for the Russian gas resources. Undoubtedly, this deal will have an impact upon very costly LNG projects in Eastern Africa, Australia and Western Canada. Therefore, the contract with China is not just the biggest deal with our neighbours, not just the biggest contract in Gazprom’s history, but the agreement, which is going to influence gas markets.”
