Gazprom and Kazakhstan discuss further development of cooperation in gas sector

A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Roman Sklyar, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, took place today.

The meeting participants discussed matters related to further development of their cooperation in the gas sector.

Background

October 2023 saw the start of Russian natural gas supplies to the consumers of the Republic of Uzbekistan across the Republic of Kazakhstan. The gas supplies are arranged in reverse flow via a dedicated route that uses the Central Asia – Center gas trunkline system.

In November 2023, Gazprom and the Government of Kazakhstan signed the Agreement of Strategic Cooperation.

In November 2024, Gazprom and the Government of Kazakhstan signed the Heads of Agreement for the processing and sales of gas from the Karachaganak field for 2025–2026.
