Gazprom providing reliable supplies of Russian gas to Uzbekistan

A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, took place today.

The parties noted that Gazprom provides the republic with reliable gas supplies, including during the periods of peak demand, via a dedicated route that uses the Central Asia – Center gas trunkline system.

The meeting also addressed the ongoing implementation of the Strategic Memorandum of Cooperation in the energy complex.

Background

In June 2023, Gazprom and the Republic of Uzbekistan signed the Contract for Russian gas supplies to Uzbekistan and the Roadmap for preparing the gas transmission system of Uzbekistan for the reception and transmission of Russian pipeline gas.

In October 2023, the ceremony was held to mark the start of Russian natural gas supplies to the consumers of the Republic of Uzbekistan across the Republic of Kazakhstan via a dedicated route that uses the Central Asia – Center gas trunkline system. Taking part in the event were Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Shavkat Mirziyoev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
