Winners of Gazprom’s Spartakiada Games announced

The closing ceremony for Gazprom's Spartakiada Games was held today at the Congress Center of the Ekaterinburg EXPO International Exhibition Center in Yekaterinburg.
The 2024 Games brought together a record-high number of participants, as 32 teams of the Gazprom Group and 14 teams of the Company's partner universities came to battle for the prizes. A total of 165 sets of gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded in the competitions.
For the first time in the history of the Spartakiada Games, the tournaments between Gazprom's subsidiaries were held in two separate leagues. The members of the leagues were selected on the basis of the results of previous years' competitions.
First place in the team medal standings in League One was shared by Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk and Gazprom Transgaz Yugorsk. Third place was won by Gazprom Transgaz Ukhta.
In League Two, victory went to Gazprom Pererabotka, while Gazprom Energoholding and Gazprom Mezhregiongaz took second and third places, respectively. These winning teams will get an opportunity to play in League One during Gazprom's next Spartakiada Games.
Among student teams from the Company's partner universities, the top prize was taken by employer-sponsored students of Gazprom Transgaz Yekaterinburg, second place went to students of Gazprom Pererabotka and third place – to students of Gazprom Transgaz Saint Petersburg.
Apart from that, special prizes were awarded to Gazprom Dobycha Astrakhan and Gazprom Workers' Union Interregional Organization for their contribution to the development of corporate sports, and Rinat Kuddusov from Gazprom Transgaz Tchaikovsky received a special prize for writing the lyrics to the anthem of Gazprom's Spartakiada Games.
Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, sent his congratulations to the winners and participants of the sports competitions:
“These Spartakiada Games were vivid and full of exciting events. Our athletes demonstrated a high level of training and excellent results. I congratulate the winners on their well-deserved prizes! I would like to thank all participants of the Spartakiada Games for their perseverance and will to win, and the organizers for their smooth and concerted work. New competitions and new records are waiting in the future. So, be bold! Set ambitious goals for yourselves and believe in your ability to meet them.”
Background
Gazprom has been holding the Spartakiada Games since 1996. Among the key objectives of the Games are promoting a healthy lifestyle, exchanging work experience related to physical culture and mass sports, and preserving sports traditions.
The Games take place in regions where Gazprom's subsidiaries are present.
