Gazprom and Kazakhstan discussing long-term supplies and transmission of Russian natural gas

A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Roman Sklyar, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, took place today.
The parties discussed issues related to the development of cooperation under the Agreement of Strategic Cooperation which was signed in November. In particular, attention was paid to the prospects for the long-term supplies and transmission of Russian natural gas.
Background
In June 2023, Gazprom and NC QazaqGaz signed the Contract for the transmission of Russian natural gas across the Republic of Kazakhstan for the consumers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In October 2023, the ceremony was held to mark the start of Russian natural gas supplies to the consumers of the Republic of Uzbekistan across the Republic of Kazakhstan. The gas supplies are arranged in reverse flow via a dedicated route that uses the Central Asia – Center gas trunkline system.
In November 2023, Gazprom and the Government of Kazakhstan signed the Agreement of Strategic Cooperation for expanding the cooperation in natural gas supplies, transmission and processing, as well as natural gas exploration and production.
