Applications for gas connections in terms of free-of-charge additional gas grid expansion being collected from medical facilities and educational entities since March 1
RELEASE
Release
The Gazprom Board of Directors took note of the information about the progress of additional gas infrastructure expansion in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, namely the efforts for bringing pipeline gas to the boundaries of households at no cost to the population within localities already covered by the gas grid.
It was noted that the citizens have signed 782,500 contracts for additional gas grid expansion with gas distribution companies by now. Around 67 per cent of the contracts have been executed by bringing pipeline gas to the boundaries of relevant land plots, i.e. a total of 527,200 households. Over 103,000 of the contracts were executed between December 2022 and February 2023.
The gas distribution entities of the Gazprom Group make sure that the construction of gas grids is going at a fast pace in the areas falling under their responsibility. All of the signed contracts for additional gas grid expansion are being performed on schedule. Some 11,000 people and 8,000 vehicles are involved in the creation of the requisite infrastructure. The Single operator of gas infrastructure expansion (SO, Gazprom Gazifikatsiya) continues to provide complete financing for additional gas grid expansion that covers the households located in the areas falling under the responsibility of third-party gas distribution companies and regional gas infrastructure expansion operators.
The collection of applications for bringing pipeline gas to the boiler houses of outpatient clinics, hospitals, rural outpatient & obstetric units, and educational entities that comply with the conditions of participating in the additional gas grid expansion program is in progress starting from March 1, 2023. Preliminary estimates show that some 1,530 medical facilities and 1,760 educational entities may be expected to take part in the additional gas grid expansion program in the areas falling under the responsibility of the gas distribution entities of the Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Group.
The Management Committee was tasked with continuing the work on additional gas infrastructure expansion in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
Background
The SO is the single responsibility center for gas infrastructure expansion and provision of free connections to gas distribution networks in 72 constituent entities of the Russian Federation and the Sirius federal territory.
On October 30, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin issued an instruction to extend beyond 2022 the social gas infrastructure expansion program within localities already covered by the gas grid, and to ensure that technological connections to gas distribution networks are established for the gas-using equipment of outpatient clinics, hospitals, rural outpatient & obstetric units, and educational entities at no cost to such facilities.
