Gazprom developing cooperation with Russia’s higher education institutions

A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, took place today at the Company's headquarters in the Lakhta Center.

The parties, inter alia, discussed matters pertaining to the development of Gazprom's anchor universities and universities having a special partnership with the Company.

It was highlighted that Gazprom and its subsidiaries support higher education institutions in the improvement of their educational programs, creation of laboratories and training facilities, arrangement of internships for students, and engagement of Gazprom's representatives to give lectures. Several new training programs reflecting the current development prospects of the gas industry were launched with support from Gazprom. There are 27 specialized departments of Gazprom in Russian higher education institutions.

Gazprom has 18 anchor universities and universities enjoying a special partnership with the Company in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Innopolis, Kazan, Tomsk, Tyumen, Ufa, Ukhta, and Yakutsk. Their role is to ensure that future specialists receive excellent professional training in the key areas of the Company's activities.

The universities, inter alia, carry out research, development and design activities to the benefit of Gazprom. Some of these activities have made a major contribution to increasing the efficiency of technological processes in such important areas as, for instance, operation of compressor stations and underground gas storage facilities. A project for creating an innovative sci-tech marine robotics center is currently being implemented at St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University with the participation of Gazprom.
