Gazprom’s implementation of contracts for additional gas grid expansion to increase by 65 per cent in August versus July

RELEASE

The Gazprom Management Committee took note of the information about the ongoing work on additional gas infrastructure expansion in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, namely the efforts for bringing pipeline gas to the boundaries of households at no cost to the population within localities already covered by the gas grid.

As of today, the Single operator of gas infrastructure expansion (SO, Gazprom Gazifikatsiya) and regional gas infrastructure expansion operators have received more than 1 million applications for additional gas grid expansion from citizens. Almost 544,000 contracts have been signed and 44 per cent of them have been executed, i.e. gas pipelines have been laid up to the boundaries of citizens' land plots.

It was noted that the work on additional gas grid expansion in the areas falling under the responsibility of the SO is proceeding actively. At present, some 11,400 people and 4,800 units of heavy machinery are employed in the construction of gas networks. The plan for August envisages 38,000 contracts – 65 per cent more than in July – to be performed by the gas distribution entities (GDEs) of Gazprom.

The SO ensures timely funding to cover the economically justified expenditures of GDEs, including independent ones, in the areas falling under the responsibility of Gazprom Gazifikatsiya.

The Management Committee also reviewed the information about gas supplies to the Khabarovsk Territory from 2025. Currently, Gazprom continues to install additional gas compressor equipment at the Sakhalin – Khabarovsk – Vladivostok gas trunkline's main compressor station in order to increase the trunkline's capacity. Design activities commenced for the infrastructure required to switch consumers from the Okha – Komsomolsk-on-Amur gas pipeline (not owned by Gazprom) to said trunkline. Work is underway to obtain a more precise forecast of gas demand among regional consumers.

The issues of the ongoing work on additional gas infrastructure expansion in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and gas supplies to the Khabarovsk Territory from 2025 will be submitted for consideration by the Gazprom Board of Directors.

Background

The SO is the single responsibility center for gas infrastructure expansion and provision of free connections to gas distribution networks in 72 constituent entities of the Russian Federation and the Sirius federal territory. In the areas falling under the responsibility of the SO, the work on additional gas grid expansion is carried out by the gas distribution entities (GDEs) of Gazprom, as well as independent GDEs.
