Gazprom and Rostelecom expanding use of digital technologies
RELEASE
Release
A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Mikhail Oseevsky, President of Rostelecom, took place today in St. Petersburg.
The parties discussed relevant issues pertaining to their cooperation. A focus was placed on advancing collaboration in the use of Gazprom's Yamal orbital satellite constellation to meet the needs of Rostelecom. Currently, Rostelecom uses the resources of four Yamal communications satellites. Among them is Yamal-601, which has a big footprint and the largest bandwidth among Russian communications satellites.
Particular attention was paid to the joint work carried out by Gazprom Mezhregiongaz, Rostelecom, and Gazprombank to implement digitalization projects.
Last year, the parties launched the connectgas.ru portal and a contact center with federal telephone number 8-800-101-00-04 for the Single operator of gas infrastructure expansion. The portal was created jointly with Gazprombank. The contact center employs Rostelecom's intelligent voice services. The portal and the contact center provide people in Russia with exhaustive information about matters pertaining to gas connections.
The Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Group and Rostelecom are currently working to create a digital platform for the integrated information and technology environment intended for the companies comprising the Group. As part of the project, it is planned to establish a storage for information on the current parameters of operation, including real-time metering data for the gas supplied to consumers via gas distribution networks.
The new platform will give its users a new tool for proactive managerial decision-making through automated big data analysis. This will make it possible to streamline the management of gas flows, as well as to monitor the condition of gas distribution networks and service them.
