RELEASE
Release
A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Pascal De Buck, Chief Executive Officer of Fluxys, took place today at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2018.
The meeting participants discussed the state and prospects of joint efforts for conveying Russian gas to Europe. Emphasis was placed on, inter alia, the existing supply routes in European territory. The parties reviewed the opportunities for the development and diversification of European gas transmission systems in light of the declining indigenous production in northwestern Europe and the need for additional supplies of natural gas in view of, among other things, Gazprom's Nord Stream 2 project.
Background
The Belgian gas transmission company Fluxys is engaged in natural gas transportation and storage, as well as offers infrastructure services in the field of large-scale and small-scale LNG. The company provides Gazprom with transmission capacities for gas deliveries to the United Kingdom.
