Gazprom and Total express satisfaction with ongoing cooperation in oil and gas sector

A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Patrick Pouyanne, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Total S.A., took place today at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2018.

The meeting participants expressed their satisfaction with the ongoing bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sector.

Gazprom and Total contribute to the development of the Bolivian fuel and energy complex. Alexey Miller and Patrick Pouyanne discussed the progress in the development of the Incahuasi field. It was also noted that prospecting drilling was planned at the Azero block in late 2018.

Background

Total S.A. handles the whole range of operations in the oil and gas sector from production to sales of marketable products to end consumers.

Gazprom (20 per cent) in partnership with Total E&P Bolivie (50 per cent), TecPetrol de Bolivia (20 per cent), and YPBF Chaco (10 per cent) develops the promising Ipati and Aquio blocks, within which the Incahuasi field was discovered.

Gazprom and Total also implement a hydrocarbon exploration project in the Azero block. The project's shareholding structure at the geological exploration stage is as follows: Gazprom – 50 per cent and Total – 50 per cent.

Gazprom's interests in Bolivian projects are represented by Gazprom EP International B.V., a specialized company aimed at implementing hydrocarbon prospecting, exploration and development projects outside Russia. The company currently participates in some 40 projects based in two dozen countries on three continents.
