Gazprom and major constructors agree to establish Association of gas construction companies

Gazprom and major construction companies today entered into a Memorandum of Intent at the 6th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.
The document was signed by Vitaly Markelov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, Stanislav Anikeev, Director General of Stroygazconsulting, Sergey Garaev, Director General of Stroygazmontazh, and Vladimir Kartashyan, Director General of StroyTransNefteGaz, in the presence of Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee.
Pursuant to the document, the parties intend to establish an Association of gas construction companies with the purpose to coordinate the efforts aimed at developing equipment and technologies and improve the regulatory framework for construction activities across the gas industry.
The Association will be tasked to address, among other things, the introduction of common principles for managing production processes in the construction business based on domestic and international best practices, the unification of existing and adoption of new engineering solutions and technologies, including the innovative, energy saving and energy efficient ones.
The Association will also ensure the technical regulation of construction, maintenance and repair activities in the gas industry, as well as participate in the development of national and transnational construction standards, rules and regulations.
