Gazprom to consider potential construction of Bezhanitsy – Novorzhev – Pushkinskiye Gori gas lateral

The Gazprom headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company's Management Committee and Andrey Turchak, Governor of the Pskov Oblast.

The parties discussed the Cooperation Agreement implementation, stressing that in the current year Gazprom and the Pskov Oblast Administration had jointly developed the Regional Gasification Program and the Program for Construction, Reconstruction and Retrofitting of Heat and Power Facilities in Pskov Oblast. Both programs are scheduled for 2011–2014.

The meeting participants considered the Bezhanitsy – Novorzhev – Pushkinskiye Gori gas lateral construction and noted that the regional Administration would prepare the investment rationale for the gas pipeline, on the ground of which Gazprom would make a decision about feasibility of its construction.

Background

Gazprom and the Pskov Oblast Administration entered into the Cooperation Agreement and the Gasification Accord in 2005.

Between 2006 and 2010 Gazprom invested over RUB 1.2 billion in the regional gasification increasing its gas penetration level by 3.7 per cent (to 36.4 per cent) including 4.9 per cent (to 59.3 per cent) in cities and towns and 1.7 per cent (to 6 per cent) in the rural area.
