Gazprom hosts presentation of Fakel Gazproma table tennis club

The Gazprom headquarters hosted today the presentation of the Fakel Gazproma table tennis club (Orenburg) in the presence of Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee.

Fakel became a two-times holder of the European Champions League Cup in table tennis. It is the only Russian team to have won the most prestigious European tennis trophy.

“Orenburg is the capital of Russian table tennis today. The best table tennis center in Europe is located there. A decision was made together with the Russian Table Tennis Federation to set up an academy for gifted children from the entire Russia to come there to study and professionally train for elite sport. I’d like to thank the Fakel Gazproma team and the management of Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg. Well done! I wish you new successes and new victories!” said Alexey Miller.

A movie about the history and achievements of Fakel Gazproma was shown at the presentation.

Viktor Andreev, senior coach of the club thanked Alexey Miller for extensive assistance in promoting table tennis in the Orenburg Region and, particularly, for building the Russian Table Tennis Center in Orenburg within the Gazprom for Children program.

Club players Sergey Andrianov and Fyodor Kuzmin presented a professional racket and a personalized polo shirt with the Fakel Gazproma logo to the Company’s Head.
