The Company is consistently expanding cooperation with the countries of said region. For instance, first-ever supplies of Russian gas to Uzbekistan were launched in October 2023. The gas supplies are arranged across Kazakhstan, in reverse flow via a dedicated route that uses the Central Asia – Center gas trunkline system. To commence the supplies, the required diagnostics and repair-and-restoration works were performed and new gas infrastructure was built in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan with active support from the specialists of Gazprom within tight timeframes, in 3.5 months.

The implementation of the project contributed significantly to strengthening the energy security of Uzbekistan. For instance, this winter, Gazprom provided gas supplies to the Republic of Uzbekistan in the volumes above the Company's contractual obligations. This indicates a high demand for Russian gas and the relevance of the route.

To make gas supplies to Central Asian countries even more reliable in the future, three strategic documents were signed at the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum in November 2023. The documents aim to strengthen Gazprom's long-term cooperation in the gas sector with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

The issue of the prospects for further development of gas exports to Central Asia will be submitted for consideration by the Gazprom Board of Directors.

Background
