The 2nd Gathering of Gazprom-sponsored students who can in the future become the employees of the Gazprom Group companies took place in Tomsk. The event brought together 120 students from 13 leading higher education institutions located in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan, Tomsk, Tyumen, Ufa, and Ukhta, which provide training in the professions relevant for the Company.
For several days, National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University served as a training ground for the students to acquire new competencies, both personal and professional. The main task for the future specialists was to develop their skills in project management and effective teamwork. The students prepared and presented practice projects, showcasing the knowledge they had obtained in the course of the Gathering. The project topics were actual practical tasks existing in the business activities of Gazprom and the ways of solving them.
The program of the Gathering included, inter alia, lectures on the development of the oil & gas complex, diversification of gas supplies and digital transformation, as well as team-building training sessions. The students visited Gazprom's facilities in the Tomsk Region and the Corporate Institute of Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk.
The participants of the Gathering also learned about the new technologies being developed in Tomsk Polytechnic University.
“The way the young people have handled creative and practical tasks and skillfully defended their ideas and projects during these days has shown us that, in the coming years, the ranks of gas workers will be joined by proactive and dynamic youth. Gazprom is developing, it implements breakthrough projects, so the potential of young people is in demand in our Company,” said Elena Kasyan, Head of Department at Gazprom.
“The students who graduate from universities are to integrate into the real working environment of the industry as quickly and efficiently as possible; they need to be able to actively interact with various specialists within their project teams. The Gathering was a good training ground for them. Here they worked on complicated cases and presented their comprehensive technical solutions for the industry. I am sure that very soon the participants of the Gathering will become strong-performing members of Gazprom's team in different places of our country,” said Leonid Sukhikh, Acting Rector of Tomsk Polytechnic University.
