Gazprom exceeds its targets in terms of gas infrastructure expansion in Russian regions in 2021
RELEASE
Release
The Gazprom Management Committee took note of the information about the results of the implementation of the 2021 Program for gas infrastructure expansion in Russian regions by Gazprom Mezhregiongaz, the achievement of targets in terms of gas infrastructure expansion and additional gas infrastructure expansion in Russian regions, as well as the plans for 2022.
In 2021, Gazprom commenced the implementation of new five-year programs for gas supply and gas infrastructure expansion that were signed with 68 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The entity responsible for the implementation of the programs is Gazprom Mezhregiongaz, a specialized subsidiary of Gazprom.
It was noted that the targets set out by the Company for 2021 were exceeded. A total of 163 gas pipelines with the overall length of 2,700 kilometers have been built. The conditions required for gas grid connection have been created in over 83,600 households and apartments (or almost 128 per cent of the 2021 target indicator) and 285 boiler houses (or 150 per cent of the target amount) in 342 localities.
Besides, reconstruction and technical upgrade have been performed at 38 gas distribution stations, which made it possible to increase their capacity for connecting new consumers.
In 2021, pursuant to the instruction given by Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, Gazprom commenced an extensive work on additional gas grid expansion in the localities that are already provided with gas. The Single operator of gas infrastructure expansion – Gazprom Gazifikatsiya – is responsible for building all the required infrastructure up to the boundaries of the land plots of consumers. Jointly with regional authorities, Gazprom conducted a broad awareness campaign which resulted in over 554,000 applications submitted in 2021 alone, and a part of the applications have already been fulfilled.
The scope of work planned for 2022 under five-year programs for gas supply and gas infrastructure expansion exceeds that planned for 2021. According to the 2022 targets, the conditions for gas grid connection are to be provided for over 370 localities.
In 2022, additional gas grid expansion activities will cover more than 21,000 localities that are already provided with gas.
The relevant units and Gazprom Mezhregiongaz were tasked with continuing the work on gas infrastructure expansion and additional gas grid expansion for Russian consumers.
