International Business Congress holds 40th Presiding Committee Meeting and 22nd General Meeting

The 40th Presiding Committee Meeting and the 22nd General Meeting of the International Business Congress (IBC) took place today in Bonn, Germany.

The Meeting participants took stock of the IBC performance in the year 2018, approved the financial report, commended the Presiding Committee and the Board of Executive Directors for their work, and heard the progress reports of the working committees.

During the Meeting, the election of the IBC Executive Board and Presiding Committee was also addressed. Rainer Seele, Chairman of the Executive Board of OMV, was elected as the IBC Vice President.

The new Presiding Committee includes Dmitry Kuzovenkov, President of Baker Hughes in Russia and CIS; Arnaud Le Foll, Total Country Chair Russia and General Director of Total E&P Russie; Alexander Liberov, President of Siemens in Russia; Leonid Mukhamedov, Member of the Executive Committee and Executive Vice-President for Strategy at Schneider Electric Industry; Denis Panasenko, President of the International Academy of Technological Sciences; Famil Sadygov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee at Gazprom; Shinsuke Toda, Executive Officer for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Mizuho Bank; and Han Fennema, Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie.

The conference “Natural Gas – Paving the Way to Ecological Economy” also took place within the framework of the IBC.

Background

The International Business Congress (IBC) is an international non-governmental and non-profit organization. The IBC consists of 123 members, including Gazprom, Deutsche Bank, N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie, J.P. Morgan Bank International, KPMG, Mitsubishi, Mizuho Bank, Siemens, Shell, Equinor, Schneider Electric, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Total, Uniper, Wintershall, Sakhalin Energy, Srbijagas, and others.

The IBC's supreme body is the General Meeting. The 50-member Presiding Committee exercises general management. The nine-member Board of Executive Directors is responsible for operational issues.

The Congress deals with the practical aspects of economic cooperation and brings forward proposals for debottlenecking and building a favorable environment for safe and efficient entrepreneurial activities. The IBC operates through eight Working Committees: Energy; Industry, Innovations and Prospective Development; Law, Banking and Finance; Information and Communications; Ecology and Healthcare; Modern Technologies and Prospective Oil and Gas Industry Projects; Human Resources; and Business Security.
