Gazprom and Sovcomflot address ongoing and future cooperation

A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom, and Sergey Frank, President and CEO of Sovcomflot, took place at the Sovcomflot headquarters in St. Petersburg today.
The parties addressed the ongoing and future cooperation in the marine transportation of hydrocarbons.
Sergey Frank showed Alexey Miller the simulation rooms at the Sovcomflot Group’s Training Center. The Center is outfitted with state-of-the-art simulators used for training in the whole range of Arctic maritime operations, including navigation at northern latitudes, ice navigation with and without an icebreaker escort, maintenance of production platforms, and mooring at ice-resistant terminals.
Sergey Frank briefed Alexey Miller on the effective operation of Sovcomflot’s tankers during the development of Gazprom’s Prirazlomnoye and Novoportovskoye fields.
Background
The Gazprom Group operates a number of Sovcomflot’s tankers under long-term charters, employing, inter alia, the Kirill Lavrov and Mikhail Ulyanov tankers to transport oil from the Prirazlomnoye field and the Shturman Albanov, Shturman Malygin and Shturman Ovtsyn tankers to transport oil from the Novoportovskoye field.
Sovcomflot is Russia’s largest shipping company focused on the marine transportation of oil, petroleum products and liquefied gas, as well as the operator of one of the largest tanker fleets in the world.
