In late August 2016, Gazprom Transgaz Ufa concluded the testing of a compressed natural gas (CNG) filling unit produced in Russia. The unit was developed and manufactured by Barrens in cooperation with Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo.

A modular CNG station is a small-size gas filling station with a capacity of 500–600 cubic meters per hour, equipped with the required control and protection systems.

A prototype of the module was installed this May at CNG station No. M-45 at the Dyurtyulinsky gas pipeline operation center. In the course of four months, the domestically-produced system was tested by Gazprom Transgaz Ufa’s experts.

Pilot operation lasted 756 hours, with 1,213 refills performed, which is equivalent to selling 42,338.6 cubic meters of natural gas. As a result, the filling station was approved for use at Gazprom’s facilities.

“When put into commercial operation, the small-size modular CNG stations will accelerate the expansion of Gazprom’s gas filling infrastructure and offer gas for motor vehicles,” said Mikhail Likhachev, Director General of Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo.
