Gazprom’s Best Young Innovator contest results announced

The awarding ceremony for the first Gazprom’s Best Young Innovator contest took place at the Company’s headquarters. The awards were presented by Sergey Khomyakov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee.
Taking part in the final round of the contest were 83 young employees from Gazprom’s subsidiaries and organizations who had passed the qualifying round. The winners were determined taking into account the number of novel proposals submitted between 2014 and 2015 and later adopted, as well as their economic effect. The adopted proposals generated a total economic benefit of around RUB 96 million.
Nikita Pritykin, a software engineer from Gazprom Transgaz Ukhta, was named the first-prize winner. Between 2014 and 2015, he submitted 47 innovative proposals.
The second-prize winners were Eduard Vigand, an engineer from Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk, and Yakov Verbovoy, a lead process engineer from Gazprom Transgaz Krasnodar. Within the two years, they made 35 and 33 proposals, respectively.
The third place was taken by Dmitry Fedulov, an engineer for management and maintenance of buildings and facilities from Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk, as well as Vyacheslav Busygin, a workshop foreman, and Anton Beloborodov, an operating engineer for gas facilities, from Gazprom Transgaz Ukhta. Between 2014 and 2015, they submitted 32, 28 and 25 proposals, respectively, aimed to enhance production performance.
Background
The Gazprom’s Best Young Innovator contest will be held every two years with a view to develop and promote innovative activities of young employees from Gazprom’s subsidiaries and organizations, as well as to enhance their creativity.
The contest will also facilitate greater involvement of young employees in technological and operational improvement, thus contributing to gas production, transportation and processing enhancement, energy and fuel efficiency, and higher labor productivity.
