Gazprom approves Comprehensive Program for reconstruction and re-equipment of gas transmission facilities for 2016–2020
RELEASE
Release
The Gazprom Management Committee approved the 2016–2020 Comprehensive Program for the reconstruction and re-equipment of gas transmission facilities.
The Program aims to ensure the transmission of forecast gas volumes to domestic and foreign markets, as well as to maintain the reliability of the gas transmission system.
The Program covers the reconstruction of compressor station facilities, linear parts of gas trunklines and pipeline branches, gas distribution stations, power and heat supply networks, and corrosion protection systems.
After the meeting, Gazprom's specialized structural units were instructed to use the Program as a basis for the preparation of proposals for the Company's annual and medium-term investment programs regarding the reconstruction and re-equipment of gas transmission facilities.
Background
Gazprom’s gas transmission system in Russia has a total length of 170.7 thousand kilometers. The system includes 250 compressor stations with a total capacity of 46.1 thousand MW.
As a result of the 2011–2015 Comprehensive Program for the reconstruction and re-equipment of gas transmission facilities, the Company managed to prevent the decrease of 3.7 billion cubic meters of gas in annual production capacity of gas transmission facilities, to reduce fuel gas consumption by 0.73 billion cubic meters per year, and to cut carbon and nitrogen oxide emissions by 1.35 million tons and 0.87 thousand tons per year respectively.
