New sports center inaugurated in Smolensk Region

In early 2013 the Lider sports and recreation center built under the auspices of Gazprom Transgaz Saint Petersburg was inaugurated in the Kholm-Zhirkovsky settlement of the Smolensk Region.
Lider is the sixth sports facility built by Gazprom Transgaz Saint Petersburg over the last few years. The previously opened centers are already operational in Volkhov, Torzhok, Pikalevo, Rzhev and Valdai.
The two-storey sports and recreation center includes a multi-purpose gym for sports activities, dancing and competitions, a weight room equipped with cardio-vascular and press machines, an aerobics room, a 60x30 meters open hockey rink, as well as a health and leisure area with a swimming pool, a sauna, massage and medical rooms.
The sports and recreation center covers the total area of more than 2,000 square meters. The center can accommodate over 300 visitors daily.
Promoting sports and a healthy lifestyle among children and adults is one of the priorities of Gazprom and its subsidiaries in the social responsibility sector.
