On meeting of EuRoPol GAZ Supervisory Board

Yesterday Moscow hosted a regular meeting of EuRoPol GAZ Supervisory Board, chaired by  Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee.

Attending the meeting (on behalf of Russia) were Nicolai Dubik, Member of the Management Committee, Head of the Legal Department, Gazprom; Stanislav Tsygankov, Head of the International Business Department, Gazprom; Sergey Emelyanov, First Deputy Director General, Gazprom export. Poland was represented by Michal Szubski, President of the Management Board, PGNiG and his Deputies Miroslav Dobrut, Slavomir Hintz and Radoslav Dudzinsky.

The meeting examined the issues with regard to the joint company’s performance. In particular, the parties disscused the matters surrounding the submission of a 2009 tariff statement on EuRoPol GAZ services for natural gas transportation via Poland’s territory, completion of Yamal-Europe’s fiber optic communication line in Poland as well as other aspects of the current business activities.

The parties reached an agreement to hold the next meeting of the EuRoPol GAZ Supervisory Board in November this year in Poland.

Background

The EuRoPol GAZ Transit Gas Pipeline System was incorporated in September 1993 within the Intergovernmental Agreement on the construction of a gas pipeline system for the Russian gas transit through the Republic of Poland and the Russian gas supply to the Republic of Poland, dated August 25, 1993. The core areas of EuRoPol GAZ activities include engineering, construction and operation of the Polish section of the Yamal – Europe gas pipeline.

EuRoPol GAZ is the owner of a 684-km-long Polish section of the Yamal – Europe gas pipeline and five compressor stations providing for the gas pipeline capacity of some 30 bcmpa.

Gazprom and PGNiG are the major shareholders of EuRoPol GAZ.
