Gazprom has resolved to point Sergey Shilov to the post of Gazprom-UGS Director General.
Born in the town of Gorky, Mr. Sergey Shilov graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University, getting specialty in Political Economy. Mr. Shilov is a Candidate Doctor in Economics.
From 2002 to October 2004 Mr. Shilov was Director General of Rosgazifikatsiya. Since 2003 Mr. Shilov was Deputy Director General for Capital Construction, Mezhregiongaz (from 2003 to October 2004 concurrently with the job at Rosgazifikatsiya). In 2005 Mr. Shilov was appointed to the post of Deputy Director General for Cooperation with Gas Distribution Companies, Mezhregiongaz. Since October 2004 Mr. Shilov also held the office of Gazpromregiongaz.
Background
In October 2007 in the frames of the existing intra-corporate governance structure improvement Gazprom has completed reorganizing Gazprom-UGS (a wholly owned subsidiary of Gazprom). Gazprom UGS consolidated the Russian UGS facilities, which were earlier affiliated in gas transportation subsidiaries of Gazprom.
The reorganization was completed by merging Gazprom UGS and buffer companies including Gazprom UGS-Krasnodar, Gazprom UGS-Orenburg, Gazprom UGS-Perm, Gazprom UGS-Samara, Gazprom UGS-Saratov, Gazprom UGS-North-West, Gazprom UGS-Stavropol, Gazprom UGS-Tyumen, Gazprom UGS-Ufa set up in the 1st Q of 2007 by unbundling from the Gazprom gas transportation companies.
