Background
At present, Russia is involved in constructing a large world-class all-the-year-round mountain climatic and sports tourist resort. Total investments needed for the construction account for over USD 1.3 billion. The implementation of this project will allow the city of Sochi to become one of the 5 world-largest sea mountain resorts and will enable Russia to compete for holding here the Winter Olympic Games. Unfailing gas supplies to Krasnaya Polyana are one of the prerequisites for the resort to meet the requirements applied to the world-class tourist facilities.
The gas pipeline was constructed with Gazprom’s funds amounting, at present, to RUR 973.35 million.
Total length, diameter and working pressure of the Adler – Krasnaya Polyana gas pipeline account for 62.9 km, 325 mm and 12 Ata, respectively. The gas pipeline infrastructure includes 17 gas branches intended for supplying gas to adjoining settlements; 11 gas-distribution stations; 6 cathodic protection stations; 25 surface water and gully crossings; 17 motorway crossings; 10 switching-off devices and anti-landslide facilities.
