Results of Alexander Ananenkov and Dmitry Kazakov’s working meeting

A working meeting between Alexander Ananenkov, Acting Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee and Dmitry Kazakov, Beltransgaz’s Director General took place today at Gazprom’s Headquarters.

The parties reaffirmed the expediency to set up a Beltransgaz-based 50/50 joint venture.

Alexander Ananenkov and Dmitry Kazakov expressed a common opinion that establishing the joint venture will enhance the efficiency of joint projects implementation in the gas industry.

The meeting also explored in depth the construction of the Slonimskaya and Krupskaya compressor stations at the Belarusian section of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline.

Background

The Yamal – Europe transcontinental gas pipeline is intended to link the Yamal Peninsula fields with Western Europe. The total pipeline length from the Yamal Peninsula to the German eastern border will exceed 4 thousand km. The design capacity of one link of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline averages 33 bcm of gas per annum. The Nesvizhskaya compressor station is already in operation and 4 more (Orshanskaya, Krupskaya, Minskaya and Slonimskaya) are under construction at the Belarusian section of the pipeline.

For the time being, the trunkline is being operated at the Smolensk (Russia) – Malnow (Germany) section and is crossing Russia, Belarus, Poland and Germany.
