Gazprom delegation visited construction compaies sites in the Kaluzhskaya Oblast
Release
Alexander Ananenkov, acting Chairman, Gazprom Management Committee, was on a working visit in the Kaluzhskaya Oblast. The visit schedule included a working meeting with Anatoly Artamonov, Governor, Kaluzhskaya Oblast.
The delegation members, including Mikhail Akselrod, Member of Gazprom Management Committee, Head, Department of Capital Construction and Transportation, Valery Golubev, Member of Gazprom Management Committee, Director General, Gazkomplektimpex Ltd., Alexander Karasevich, Director General, Promgaz, and a number of Gazprom experts, visited the town of Balabanovo located construction companies involved in shift settlements’ and residential construction using SMID-1M modules.
Monolit and Inerikon companies demonstrated extreme North new residential and office buildings construction technologies to the contractors. The 1993 patented technology of ready-for-construction reinforced concrete blocks production technology used in three to five stories buildings’ construction, and sustaining minus 60 degrees Centigrade to plus 30 degrees centigrade, was already tested in Urengoy and Yamburg construction projects, and Zapolyarnoye gas field. Currently, this technology is used in Pestsovoye field shift workers residential building construction.
The meetings participants noted a number of special features necessary for new Yamal peninsula, Eastern Siberia and the Russian Far East deposits development during the discussion of the above mentioned construction technology. It was mentioned that blocks construction of a 3,000 square meters building is four to five times faster and takes ten to fifteen days, and this allows for a faster residential construction within a short Northern summer season. A reduced tonnage of the construction blocks (less than 6 tons) allows use of a wheelbase crane and transportation expenses reduction en route to the extreme North regions.
A 15% to 20% higher energy efficiency of such construction materials leads to heating expenses reduction in the extreme low temperature conditions. A 20% to 25% construction and maintenance cost reduction from shorter construction times, and cheaper building materials based on the above mentioned technology implementation is expected. Gazprom builds up to 200,000 square meters of residential space, including 50,000 square meters in the extreme North, and this technology implementation may lead to million dollar savings annually.
Concluding the meeting, Alexander Ananenkov stated: “Gazprom will further support innovation projects that improve our products competitiveness. Gazprom would actively support import substituting technologies, being the largest investor in Russia and procuring of up to US$4 to 5 billion worth of goods and services annually. Since Gazprom’s procurement specifications surpass the western quality standards quite often, Russian manufacturers must radically upgrade equipment, facilitate personnel training and production technology improvement.”
The meeting results will be finalized in a report including Balabanovo industrial facilities’ construction materials supply increase that would correspond to Gazprom interests.
Background
Balabanovo industrial facilities employ some 600,000 people. Annual output of construction materials equals 45,000 square meters of building space, and this figure may be as high as 120,000 square meters.
