Release of juvenile Atlantic salmon

The artificial breeding of the salmon fry began two years ago at the fish hatchery. Since that time, the fingerlings have obtained the required average weight of more than 20 grams each, which is recommended for young fish being released into their natural habitat.

On their migration routes, the salmon will travel through the Gulf of Finland, thus swimming past the facilities of Gazprom LNG Portovaya that are located at its coast. Within a few years, after gaining a weight of several kilograms, the salmon juveniles will return to their release site for spawning.

The fish was released under the control of supervisory bodies and the specialists of Gazprom LNG Portovaya.
