The opening ceremony for a sports and health center with an ice arena, a universal game room and a workout room took place today in Tulun, Irkutsk Region.

Attending the ceremony were Sergey Dovgalyuk, Deputy Chairman of the Irkutsk Region Government, Yury Karikh, Mayor of Tulun, Vadim Navoyenko, Deputy Director General of the Gazprom Fund for Supporting Social Initiatives, and Andrey Tatarinov, Director General of Gazprom Dobycha Irkutsk.

The sports facility was built under the Gazprom for Children program, as part of the support efforts for restoring Tulun after the flood in 2019. The Gazprom Fund for Supporting Social Initiatives acted as the construction project owner.

“Apart from production activities, Gazprom is widely known for its large-scale social projects, and when Tulun was struck by a natural catastrophe and faced its devastating effects, Gazprom stepped in to help,” noted Andrey Tatarinov. “The sports center was built within a very short time. It is equipped with an ice arena, multi-purpose game and workout rooms, spacious changing rooms, trainers’ rooms, a first-aid station and other necessary infrastructure. I cordially congratulate everyone on its opening!”

The opening ceremony for the sports and health center also included an exhibition performance by figure skaters and a friendly hockey match between the children’s teams Rysi (Lynxes) from Tulun and Tigry (Tigers) from Irkutsk.
