News from projects and regions
On September 7–10, Gazprom Geologorazvedka held comprehensive emergency response practice drills related to the construction of prospecting and appraisal wells in the Nyarmeysky and Rusanovsky licensed blocks. The training area included the southwestern part of the Kara Sea continental shelf and the Franz Josef Land archipelago.
In the course of the exercises, all structural units joined their efforts in search and rescue at sea, fire-fighting at drilling rigs, and oil and petroleum spill containment and removal. In addition, joint actions for finding, monitoring and redirecting icebergs, i.e., towing by icebreakers, were practiced for the first time.
“We place great emphasis on such practice drills. All the necessary procedures for collaboration between various units and experts are tested directly on site. After all, it is a unique region with a highly fragile environment and the people who work here are facing harsh climatic conditions,” said Alexey Davydov, Director General of Gazprom Geologorazvedka.
