Gazprom VNIIGAZ celebrates 70th anniversary

On June 4, Gazprom VNIIGAZ held a festive event to celebrate its 70th anniversary.
Words of congratulation were read onstage by the municipal officials of the Razvilka settlement, where Gazprom VNIIGAZ had always been the backbone company.

Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, extended congratulations to the company’s staff on its 70th anniversary: “Gazprom VNIIGAZ makes a significant contribution to the domestic gas industry, shaping its sci-tech potential and strategic priorities. I am convinced that the experience gained over seven decades, coupled with long-lasting traditions and scientific potential, will help you reach your objectives and add many new and exciting chapters to the history of the Institute.”
Dmitry Lyugai, Director General of Gazprom VNIIGAZ, delivered a speech congratulating his colleagues and guests of honor on the anniversary of the gas industry’s leading research center: “The Institute’s work remains extremely relevant. I am confident that the staff of Gazprom VNIIGAZ will successfully provide full scientific support to Gazprom, a renowned leader in the world energy market! Please accept my heartfelt congratulations on the Institute’s anniversary! I am especially grateful to our veterans for their hard work and dedication and for creating and cherishing the glorious traditions of the Institute!”
Sergey Kukanov, Deputy Head of the Leninsky District, felicitated the company’s team: “We highly appreciate the contribution that each VNIIGAZ employee makes to the development of our district and our settlement!”
Sergey Guskov, Director of the Russian Gas Society, congratulated Gazprom VNIIGAZ on behalf of the organization, highlighting their long history of cooperation.

The festivities included an award ceremony for the Institute’s employees, culminating in a gala concert with regional dancing and amateur ensembles.
Background
Gazprom VNIIGAZ, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom, is a research center focused on technology design and development for the gas industry, including gas field exploration and development, offshore oil and gas development, gas processing and treatment; regulatory support, design and operation of gas transmission systems and underground gas storage facilities; and environmental safety and energy efficiency.
The company has a staff of more than 1,000 scientists, including 311 top-tier professionals (50 Doctors of Sciences, 259 PhD holders, and two Corresponding Members of the Russian Academy of Sciences) and over 400 young researchers and engineers. The science and technology complex is composed of more than 100 production and research labs and upward of 60 experimental stands and installations, with the oldest postgraduate training program in the industry and a number of dissertation committees.
Gazprom VNIIGAZ developed, adopted and certified an Integrated Management System in accordance with the ISO 9001:2008 quality management standards, the STO Gazprom 9001–2012 standard and the ISO 14001:2004 environmental management standard.
