Gazprom Gazobezopasnost turns 45 years old

Gazprom Gazobezopasnost celebrated its 45th anniversary in 2017. On September 25, 1972, an Order was signed to set up the Occupational Safety, Paramilitary Units and Enterprise Security Directorate within the USSR Gas Industry Ministry.
On October 20, 2017, the central office of Gazprom Gazobezopasnost in Moscow hosted festive events involving the company’s veterans, Gazprom’s top executives and CEOs of the Company’s subsidiaries, representatives of third-party organizations, and employees from the six branches and headquarters of Gazprom Gazobezopasnost.
In the course of the ceremonial meeting, the top-performing employees of Gazprom Gazobezopasnost were awarded for their achievements. Those who had made the largest contributions to the development and establishment of the company received commendations and letters of acknowledgement.
Director General Anatoly Sorokin thanked the company’s veterans and staff for their focused and coherent efforts. “Just as before, our mission is to ensure operational safety and to guard against breakdowns and accidents in all circumstances. I am sure that we will have enough unique experience, professionalism, perseverance and diligence to fulfill these crucial objectives,” he said.
The company’s employees were also awarded by the Russian Emergencies Ministry for their long-standing and productive efforts to raise awareness about measures to protect the population and territories from emergencies.
There was also a showing of a documentary titled “Guarding People, Industry and Nature” featuring archival footage of oil and gas blowout response operations, present-day footage of the company, and photos of the best workers and veterans of Gazprom Gazobezopasnost.
Veterans and honored guests took a tour of the company’s museum, the display of which had been updated for the 45th anniversary, and visited a vintage photo exhibition.
