Training for Chinese gas workers held at Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk

A week-long training course for China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) representatives concluded today at Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk.
Chinese gas workers went on a tour of corporate production facilities, Vakhrushev Tomsk Electromechanical Plant, and Tomsk Polytechnic University.
The guests visited the following facilities of Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk: the Corporate Institute, the Emergency Response and Recovery Directorate, the Engineering Center, the Tomskoye Gas Pipeline Operation Center, the Utility Vehicles and Special-Purpose Machinery Directorate, the Proskokovo compressor station, and CNG filling station No. 4.
In the course of their training, the Chinese specialists learned about the role of Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk in implementing the Power of Siberia project, management practices for gas trunkline systems within the company’s area of responsibility, and the operation of the communications service, the metrology center and the gas distribution station. The delegation also saw an exhibition of natural gas-fueled vehicles and special machinery.
During their visit to Vakhrushev Tomsk Electromechanical Plant, the foreign representatives were told about the entity’s joint projects with Gazprom as a part of the current import substitution policy.
The Chinese professionals were also briefed on the corporate training system for Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk employees. The guests viewed a demonstration of the process equipment of the gas transmission system at the training base of the Corporate Institute.
Welcoming his foreign colleagues, Anatoly Titov, Director General of Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk, said: “Today, we are constructively working with several Chinese companies within the framework of the Power of Siberia project. After this unique gas transmission system goes into operation and exports start to flow, we will continue to cooperate with our Chinese colleagues to provide reliable gas deliveries to China. Therefore, it is important to share work experience now, as it will help us find solutions to common problems in the future.”
Taking stock of their training, CNPC employees spoke about the high technological content in the gas transmission facilities of Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk, its excellent industrial safety and culture, severe climate conditions, and great hospitality.

Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom. It provides for the operation of gas transmission systems in 14 regions of Siberia and the Russian Far East.
The company operates more than 9,000 kilometers of oil and gas trunklines and pumps over 19 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
