On May 18, 2017, the 1st Arctic Joint Research and Practice Conference for young scientists and experts opened in Novy Urengoy. The conference was co-organized by Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg and Gazprom Dobycha Urengoy.
The opening ceremony was attended by Dmitry Dikamov, Acting Director General of Gazprom Dobycha Urengoy, and Valentin Kramar, Deputy Director General for Personnel Management at Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg.
Taking part in the conference are young employees from nineteen oil and gas companies, as well as students of Gazprom Classes. The agenda includes discussion of the challenges currently faced by the oil and gas industry, including the issues of gas equipment reliability, ecology, environmental protection and occupational health. Overall, there will be 57 oral presentations delivered in six sections.
The conference know-how is a separate section for presentations in English. It will comprise eight speakers, including two students of Gazprom Classes. An additional section will be set up for presentations of research papers by schoolchildren.
The conference agenda also provides for excursions across Novy Urengoy, visits to a gas production facility, as well as the history museum of Gazprom Dobycha Urengoy.
The conference will adjourn on May 19.
