On May 5, 2017, a rally meeting of veterans and employees of Gazprom Transgaz Saint Petersburg, dedicated to the 72nd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, took place near the main office of the company. Participating in the event were Georgy Fokin, Director General, Viktor Sivokon, Chief Engineer – First Deputy Director General, Sergey Solovyov, Chairman of the Veterans of Lentransgaz social support fund, and Boris Komarov, Chairman of the Unified Trade Union.

The Gazprom Transgaz Saint Petersburg employees congratulated the veterans, including the home-front workers, the residents of the besieged Leningrad and the prisoners of the fascist camps, on the upcoming Victory Day, gave them flowers, expressed warm words of gratitude, and wished them robust health and long life.

“May 9 is a special day in the calendar. It is deeply meaningful for every citizen of our immense country. On this solemn day, with mixed emotions of joy and sorrow, we pay tribute to the memory of and express gratitude to the winners. We honor those who, in the times of hardships, forged the Victory over fascism at the front and behind the lines. Thanks to their great feat, we have the opportunity to work peacefully, enjoy successes and raise our children,” said Georgy Fokin to the audience.

After the rally, the company’s veterans and young employees made a tour around the places of military glory in the Leningrad Region.

Background

Gazprom Transgaz Saint Petersburg, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom, is engaged in natural gas transmission in nine regions of northwestern Russia, as well as natural gas transit to the CIS and Europe.
