On January 14, the Culture and Sports Palace of Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol hosted a charitable Christmas celebration for children.

The gas workers welcomed over five hundred children from a social rehabilitation center for minors of the Tishchenskoye village, Solnyshko orphanage No. 4 of the Solnechnodolsk settlement, a boarding school of the Podluzhnoye village, and from regional low-income and multi-child families. Also taking part in the Christmas celebration were Sunday school pupils from the Izobilny town, the Ryzdvyany, Peredovoy, Solnechnodolsk, Rozhdestvenskaya, Novotroitskaya and Filimonovskaya settlements, as well as the Moskovskoye and Ptichye villages.

First, a celebratory worship service was held at the Church of the Nativity in the Ryzdvyany settlement, and then the children went to the Culture and Sports Palace of Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol, where treats as well as a large concert prepared by the company’s best creative teams were waiting for them. After the concert all the children received presents and greeting cards.

“We have been participating in charitable celebrations organized by gas workers for our children over the years,” said Olga Shiryaeva, a psychologist from the social rehabilitation center for minors in the Tishchenskoye village. “The children always come back in a good mood from Ryzdvyany, showing each over presents and sharing their impressions with friends.”

Alexey Zavgorodnev, Director General of Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol, emphasized: “Christmas is one of the most important Eastern Orthodox holidays.” He expressed his hope that the soul of every child would be full of only heavenly thoughts, the heart – full of kindness, and they would grow up always giving help to adults.

Background

Being a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom, Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol is comprised of 19 branches. The company operates the linear gas pipelines passing through 10 Russian constituent entities and conveying over 60 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The length of the pipelines exceeds 8,000 kilometers.

The company also operates 12 compressor stations, 19 workshops, and 11 types of gas compressor units (111) with a total installed capacity of 1,015.9 MW; over 300 gas distribution stations; 13 CNG filling stations with a total capacity of 4,450 refills a day, making it possible to annually sell 92 million cubic meters of compressed natural gas; four CNG conversion shops and three gas cylinder certification shops.

The environmental management system of Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol complies with the requirements of the international ISO-14001:2004 standard. The company employs around 8 thousand people. Its head office is located in Stavropol.

The tradition to hold Christmas and Easter celebrations for regional orphaned children and Sunday school pupils started at Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol in 2000. In the course of those years, over 15,000 children have visited charitable celebrations organized by gas workers. The company’s employees are constant guests in institutions for orphaned children located in the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts of Russia. Almost every branch of Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol renders targeted assistance to orphanages, helping in repair works and providing products, toys, clothes, and sports equipment.
