Zoo ABC in Riddles for children learning to read was prepared and published within the Year of Environmental Awareness at Gazprom VNIIGAZ. The book was created with a view to instill in children a love of reading, interest in the world of nature and its inhabitants. In August children from three kindergartens of Razvilka settlement of Leninsky District, Moscow Region became the first readers and critics of the new book.
At kindergarten No. 45 Skazka at the Zoo ABC presentation the young readers of the older and pre-school groups got acquainted with the author of the poems – Viktor Kuznetsov, a PhD in Engineering, veteran of Gazprom VNIIGAZ. The kids were delighted to listen to the author’s riddles and solve them, looking at the funny pictures; they repeated the rhymed lines they remembered best and merrily reacted to the poetic word game and after that all together they made up an ABC gymnastics, showing letters with their arms and legs.

On August 15, 2014 the presentation of the book for children took place at kindergarten No. 15 Zolotaya Rybka of Razvilka settlement, and a week later – at kindergarten No. 18 Korablik. Every child was presented with the Zoo ABC in Riddles. Glowing eyes and a heated discussion of the present were the best present for the event organizers.

Background
Gazprom VNIIGAZ, as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom, represents the Company’s research center dealing with technologies designing and developing for the gas industry including those intended for gas fields exploration and exploitation, offshore petroleum resources recovery, gas treatment and processing, regulatory support, design and operation of the gas transmission and underground storage system, environmental safety and energy efficiency.
