On the threshold of the Knowledge Day the employees of Gazprom Transgaz Saratov took part in the Get a Child Ready for School charity campaign as part of the company’s Green Planet for Children social project. All the company’s branches donated money to purchase school kits, office supplies, backpacks and sports equipment, which total worth exceeded RUB 100 thousand. On the Knowledge Day the long-awaited presents were given to children from over 50 socially unprotected and large families, as well as to 20 disabled children in the regions of the company’s operations, namely, the Saratov, Penza and Tambov Regions.
The company’s Director General Leonid Chernoshchyokov pointed out at the opening of a new school in the Zolotaya Step settlement (Sovetsky District, Saratov Region): “Gazprom Transgaz Saratov traditionally carries out a number of charity events on the Knowledge Day. Our company prioritizes child support and environmental protection as the basis for the future of Russia!”
In addition, cleanups took place in all of the company’s areas of operations as part of the Year of Ecology and the Green Planet for Children social project. More than thousand company’s employees and veterans together with children and grandchildren were hanging birdfeeders and birdhouses, planting trees and cleaning springs. The cleanups resulted in removing around 70 tons of garbage, using over 30 units of specialized machinery, cleaning 40 hectares of land, improving 8 springs, hanging over 100 birdhouses and birdfeeders.
The ten days of charity events ended in the congratulation of pupils from the Alexiy Sunday School of the Svyato-Alexeyevsky Convent, for whom the company’s top executives led by Director General had raised funds and purchased fabricating materials and art supplies.
Background
Gazprom Transgaz Saratov is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom. The company’s gas transmission system enables regulating and redistributing natural gas flows from Western Siberia, Central Asia, the Orenburg Region and three Saratov underground gas storage facilities. The company’s 215 gas distribution stations secure gas supplies to the Saratov Region and partially to the Tambov and Penza Regions. The company’s personnel, which amounts to some 6 thousand people, maintains over 7 thousand kilometers of one-line gas trunklines and gas branches, 11 line pipe operation centers, 29 compressor workshops containing 169 gas pumping units with the installed capacity of 1.3 million KW and operates 6 compressed natural gas filling stations. The company has adopted ISO 14001:2001 environmental management system.
