RELEASE
News from projects and regions
Sergey Menshikov, Director General of Gazprom Dobycha Nadym and Stanislav Shegurov, Acting Head of the Nadym District municipal administration took part in the opening of the Ecopark ecological area by laying the two last paving slabs on a park road. The slabs were made of recycled auto tires.
A total of 17 exhibits such as objects made of recycled materials: WALL-E robot, a huge bottle of fresh water, a tire man, a symbolic globe filled with garbage and even such mundane objects as benches and a bicycle parking are located in some 500 square meters of the park area.
The park also contains exhibits demonstrating the use of environmentally friendly and energy saving technologies such as street lights, a CNG-powered vintage car, bird-voiced nesting boxes with motion sensors. All the Ecopark’s objects needing electricity are supplied by energy from the wind turbine installed here.
Some objects of the Ecopark are designed to remind the Nadym citizens of the necessity to maintain the cleanliness in the streets. For instance, the city’s first dispenser with dog bags is stationed here to serve the needs of pet keepers who go out for a walk with their pets. One may also find containers for separate waste collection in the park.
The Ecopark area is beautified by flowerbeds with northern berries, alpine rock gardens and the green lawn. Each exhibit is supplied with an information plate.
