Russia’s Ministry of Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy awarded the Russian Master of Sports of International Class in Oriental Martial Arts titles to karate fighters of the Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol Shotokan sports club.
Vladislav Ivanov, Mkhitar Mkhitaryan, Islam Nagoev and Sergey Umrikhin, repeat winners and awardees of prestigious Russian and international tournaments became the honorary title holders. Mkhitar Mkhitaryan is the reigning European champion in Shotokan Karate-Do in adult individual kumite. Vladislav Ivanov became the winner of the 2013 Open Russian Cup and the All-Russian Martial Arts Games as well as won bronze medals at the European Cup. Islam Nagoev and Sergey Umrikhin have many times become the awardees of the Old World Championships as well as Russian Championships in team and individual events.
The honorary title awarded to the company’s karate fighters became yet another acknowledgement of the excellence maintained by the Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol Shotokan oriental martial arts school.
