II International Conference “Development of Hydrocarbon Fields. Topical Issues and Prospects” (HCFD-2012) started its work on May 15 in Gazprom VNIIGAZ.
The Conference is sponsored by Gazprom and Gazprom VNIIGAZ. More than 250 delegates from 87 oil and gas companies in 14 countries will take part in the Conference.
Vitaly Markelov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee opened the Conference with a welcoming address to the participants and the guests. Valery Yazev, President of Russian Natural Gas Society, Ivan Grachev, Head of the Russian State Duma Energy Committee and Vladimir Vladimirov, First Deputy Governor of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area also delivered their salutary addresses to the Conference.
Making topical reports at the plenary session were Vitaly Markelov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, Vsevolod Cherepanov, Member of the Gazprom Management Committee, Head of the Gas, Gas Condensate and Oil Production Department, Pavel Tsybulsky, Director General of Gazprom VNIIGAZ, Anatoly Dmitrievsky, Academician of RAS, Director of Oil and Gas Research Institute RAS, Jan Helge Skogen, President of Statoil Russia, Nguyen Quynh Lam, Director General of Bien Dong Petroleum Operating Company PetroVietnam.
The technical sessions of the HCFD-2012 are dedicated to geology and fields development; development of fields with complex geology; wells construction, operation and repair under complicated mining and geological conditions; geological and hydrodynamic modeling of production facilities.
The outstanding scientists of the gas industry were honored at the Conference – Anatoly Dmitrievsky, Academician of RAS, Director of Oil and Gas Research Institute RAS – on account of his 75th birthday and Shakho Gergedava, Doctor of Engineering, Merited Worker of the Oil and Gas Industry, founder of the United Geophysical Survey under the USSR Ministry of Gas Industry – on account of his 80th birthday.
Background
Gazprom VNIIGAZ, being a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom, represents the Company’s research center elaborating and designing technologies for the gas industry including those for gas fields exploration and development, offshore petroleum resources recovery, gas treatment and processing, regulatory support, designing and operating the gas transmission and underground storage system, mathematic modeling and information technologies, natural gas use as a motor fuel, environmental safety, energy efficiency and labor protection.
