On February 10 the Gornozavodsk city, Perm Krai hosted a festive opening of the Olympia sports and recreation complex built at Gazprom Transgaz Tchaikovsky’s expense as part of the Gazprom for Children program.
The complex includes a gym (24 by 36 meters), rooms for table tennis, billiard and dancing, a weight room, a swimming pool, a sauna, shower and changing rooms and personnel rooms. The facility covers the total space of 2,029 square meters. At full capacity the complex houses up to 300 visitors per day. The new gym will be a nice place for city and regional competitions in various sports. Its size and equipment make it suitable for volleyball, basketball and futsal.
The opening ceremony was attended by Pavel Lyakh, Deputy Minister of Physical Education and Sports of the Perm Krai and Alexander Afanasyev, Head of the Gornozavodsk Municipal District. Gazprom Transgaz Tchaikovsky was represented by its Deputy Director General Artur Kocharyan.
Pavel Lyakh, Deputy Minister of Physical Education and Sports of the Perm Krai emphasized that such a prominent partner as Gazprom helps promote the upgrade of the sports infrastructure in the region through its subsidiary company. “We want to build a sports complex in each municipal district and the input of Gazprom Transgaz Tchaikovsky is therefore very significant,” said Pavel Lyakh.
